Graduate Temporary visa 485
The Temporary Graduate visa 485 allows recent graduates to live and work in Australia and comprises two streams: Graduate work stream and Post-study work stream.
Eligibility criteria for Primary applicant:
Graduate Work stream
- For overseas students who graduate with Australian qualifications that are closely related to an occupation on the MLTSSL
- Positive skills assessment required at time of application
- Application must be made within the 6 months from the completion date of a minimum 2 academic year (92 weeks) course in Australia
- Visa is granted for 18 months
- No need to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) or receive an invitation to make a valid visa application
- Meet health and character requirements
Post-Study Work stream
- For overseas students who graduate with a CRICOS registered degree in Australia
- Available for overseas students who applied for and were granted their first ever student visa on or after 5 November 2011
- Positive skills assessment required at time of application
- Studied at least at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 7 – Bachelor degree or above
- Application must be made within the 6 months from the completion date of a minimum 2 academic year (92 weeks) course in Australia
- Visa granted for 2 years for a Bachelor degree and Masters by course work, for 3 years for Masters by research or for 4 years for a Doctorate.
- No need to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) or receive an invitation to make a valid visa application
- Meet health and character requirements
